Changing School Protocol

The first 48 hours following a concussion are the most important for recovery. For children, most concussions are sports-related. Ensuring schools know how to respond quickly to concussions is key because most contact sports are played through schools.

After Harry’s concussion, we worked with Eton to improve their concussion response protocol. One of the most important steps for a school is keeping track of head injuries and concussions. Eton sends all suspected head injuries to the school doctor. As a result, 52 head injuries were reported and monitored last year, instead of the average 17 annual head injuries caught in previous years

After working with Eton to change their concussion response protocol, we are now reaching out to other schools with the simple but effective measures they could take to help protect their students.

Donating Cagoga

In choosing where to donate copies of CAGOGA, we decided to focus on hospitals, schools, and libraries. We want to help patients feel less alone in their concussion recovery process, so that they know someone has been through it and understands their feelings. We also want to reach young people whose risk of injury in sport and every day life is higher. Concussion awareness for them means potential shortened treatment.
