A Family Testimonial:
“In 2022, Harry was hit in the head during a rugby game, resulting in a concussion. An ordinary school day turned into a not-so-ordinary one; soon after, there ceased to be any school days for him at all.
He was out of school for an entire year—the last year of my GCSEs. As family, we witnessed his strength and positivity throughout his recovery. He kept showing up with a big smile, so much so that at times, I almost forgot he was suffering. But the need to rest took him out of our sight more and more, and walking in a straight line became difficult for a boy who had excelled in every athletic activity.
Friends reading this who have heard about Harry from me would be familiar with his exceptional academic record. Yet it was the same Harry who found it physically draining to sit an exam, or even to “think,” as the impact of his injury reshaped his daily life.
Two years have passed since that day. Just when we were relieved by his remarkable recovery and might have chosen to leave that painful episode behind, Harry did something even more extraordinary.
Having experienced both the mental and physical aftermath of a concussion, Harry decided to share his story and raise awareness of the often-overlooked impact of concussions on students’ lives.
Cagoga is a card game—but more than that, it is a rare and engaging way to understand the world of someone with a concussion. Every card’s design is inspired by something Harry experienced—cognitive dissonance, headaches, pain when looking sideways, etc.
Transforming something painful into something meaningful, creating a way to spend time with friends and family from the time spent battling alone—this is what makes us most proud of our young designer, among many other things.
